The Islamic wacko's who want to force their religion, law and language down the throats of the local population are exactly the same as the British army and establishment. This will get lots of oh no we're different, but thats exactly what the Islamists say as well, there doing it to help. So is this conclusive proof of karma, or is it just an ironic twist, that looks like justice. The argument that the people of modern England are not responsible, can be countered with neither did the countries that you invaded deserve their attacks, no Empire is built without bloodshed and Britains was as bad as any. Karma again.

I am rather bringing to the debate, that they are similar to the English colonials. As for the Gentleman that says that the British army plundered, and thats ok because everbody was at it, well it seems that everbody is trying to blow up parts of london these days, will in time will that be acceptable. As far as Britain not forcing religion, is it not illegal for the Monarch of England to be of another faith besides the establsihed church.

Kraybald, well constructed answer. I am not questioning the merits of the legal system, which is a European one rather than English, given that it derives from the Roman empire. The British empire, was liberal to those who surrenderd and accepted their ways, those who defended their countries were butchered, it had nothing to do with the white man's burden. Was supporting the White minority govt. in South Africa and Rhodesia, liberal, or the massacre in Amritsar in India.

What a complete load of nonsence. The British Army did not force religion on anyone, they killed and plundered for Britain as did every other nation at that time in history, particularly the Dutch, Spanish, French, Germans and Americans.

More of a statement than a question. There are some vague similarities, however the british empire as was, was similarly comparable to the roman empire with a certain level of civilisation and liberalism that allowed personal beliefs to be practised and many countries now benefit from what was at the time arguably the most enlightened mindset in the world being exported globally. This was the seed of the majority of western culture. The islamic countries that are governed by shariah law as i am aware are some of the most perverted cultures relative to modern thinking with their views on marriage, women, smoking, and honour. I can see no benefit that could be spread from Islam without a complete reformation, and looking at the turmoil within Islam at present (which is different in almost every country in the world) it is probably on the cards. Would the moderate educated middle class muslims really appreciate shariah law in the uk as is executed in the arab world. Surely their presence in this country answers the question... So their are similarities although in my opinion the empire spread a set of laws and principles that are still being used today where as Islam is trying to spread a set of laws and principles that cannot even be agreed amongst its own followers who daily murder each other because of it.

In response danny - when talking of an empire or religion you have to generalise and when doing so it is only logical to use the majority or examples, and i would think that doing so the empire was more a place of peace than a place of war. You could say generalising Islam is more peaceful than warlike, but to this i would disagree as from my experience the mentality and perspective of "muslims" or "islamists" to me their is no difference is warlike in itself, as by experience to sit and discuss with a muslim issues such as race, religion or law they all (in my experience) without doubt do not see themselves as equal to non-muslims and it is this arrogance that propogates the violence that surrounds Islam. I remember being told that any muslim who does not put muslims first is not a muslim, and this clearly puts everyone else below them.. Which is the way wars are started.......

There is no similarity between the Empire and Muslim fundamentalists for a start the one big difference between what the Empire did for those countries and what the Islamic fundamentalist want to do here is to bring peace and prosperity , where as the Islamics extremist want to bring death and destruction, Christ sake's cant you see the civil unrest the insurgence are doing in Iraq right now. Muslim killing Muslim, and what one of the first laws of the Koran thou shalt not kill thy Muslim brother. when Britain built the Empire people died, that an inevitable fact of war, What excuse have you for whats the extremists are doing right now, i think we call it ethnic cleansing, which is exactly what Hitler did in WW2, and you think that's right ? You cant see the woods through the trees mate !!!

sure, that's what happens in Sharia regulation!. women persons are no longer believed except they have those 4 male witnesses, who've certainly seen the form. Even the place that is befell that the 4 men have extremely witnessed the rape, there have been cutting-edge situations in some international places the place the female has nevertheless been sentenced to be stoned, or lashed. it incredibly is seen as by some ability her fault. In those styles of communities, the belief of a woman being raped, even by no fault of her very own, is seen as so shameful that extremely many times her very family participants, brothers, father etc will kill her to 'shelter the family participants honour'. Honour killings have befell even in international places like the united kingdom and in Australia. it incredibly is a huge concern in places like India, Pakistan and the middle East. There have additionally been situations the place women persons have been intentionally disfigured and mutilated by ability of their households in this way of subject. it incredibly is why people like me say that they dislike islam. there is not any justification for this way of behaviour in any civilised usa. I certainly have no longer something against muslims, consistent with se, certainly i've got many muslim acquaintances and neighbours who're completely attractive people. that's the religion I dislike because of the fact it shows hassle-free tactics to excuse this way of behaviour, and promotes the thought ladies persons are decrease than equivalent and would desire to constantly obey their fathers, husbands, brothers etc. yet you do have those severe perspectives a transforming into type of taking carry returned in as quickly as greater secular or greater tolerant international places.

Karma; really!? I fear you are "ironically twisted".

Please believe that any argument that starts with "wacko" is lost on the target audience.

I took the time to read your rant, just in case, but as I suspected you make no clear arguments about the colonial English or Islamic [people].
