some programs require you to run as apposed to save. the X control is a active x control and relates to a security policy. a program such as media player 11 coming from a trusted source (microsoft) is fine to run or save but a file you are not sure of, saving it allows your anti-virus to scan it before you run it. generally speaking it is safer to save then run

.i would say run. b/c it is faster. save is for if u are in hurry and want to do it later.

If you just run it, you will need to download and run it everytime, you need it.
