I can not tell you about a preists salary but I can tell you that a UMC full time local pastor makes around &21,000 a year and if they are ordained it goes up to around &26,000 a year. They also recieve housing allowances if there is not a parsonage available for their use. This of course is a rough estimate because I do not have the figures right in front of me but that is the general set amounts.
Offerings are tax dedutcible-churches should give you a reciept at the end of the year or you can use your cancelled checks.
Keep in mind that being a preist/pastor is not a typical 8-5 job. They must be available 24-7 for pastoral care. I can't think of any pastors that only work 40 hours a week. It is more than a job it is your life.

A Catholic priest will get between $20,000 and $30,000 per year. Housing and utilities are paid for by the Diocese. He is supposed to purchase his clothes and vestments, food and any travel expenses from what he is paid.

If a Church is set up as a 501(3)c (non-profit organization) then yes, all contributions are tax deductible.

Depends on the church. No one in our church is paid for their service. I know of other churches where they have a paid pastor and youth ministers.

Yes donations to churches are tax deductible. They are considered a charitable contribution.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS/ Mormon) doesn't have paid clergy. I'm not sure how other churches pay their clergy.

Our church donations are tax deductible if you itemize--only about 20% of US taxpayers file this way.

I don't think they get paid a lot, but the priests at my grammar school had nice cars.....

Yes donations are tax deductable, but I wouldn't deduct them. Kinda defeats the purpose in my view.
