To hard boil eggs the proper way, take however many eggs you want to eat, put them in a pot, and add just enough water to cover the eggs. Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat. Then, take the pot off the burner (keep it covered!) and let it sit for 15 minutes. This is absolutely foolproof. No matter how many eggs you cook, as long as you cook them this way, they'll be perfect every time.
The amount of time it takes to bring the pot to a boil varies with the number of eggs in the pot, which is how they end up properly cooked.

I place as many eggs as I want to cook in a pan (one level of eggs) and add a tablespoon of salt. Add enough cold water to cover the eggs. Heat on the stove until the water comes to a rolling boil. Let boil for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and tightly cover the pan. Let it sit 20 minutes. Then cool quickly in an ice water bath. This minimizes the green around the yolk. When cooled, I run the eggs under water as I shell them. The water seems to get between the shell and egg skin and makes it easier to peel. If you are using the eggs for deviled eggs, I place the eggs on their side the night before to help center up the yolk for better presentation. Older eggs peel better than fresh ones.

How many eggs do you want to eat the next couple days? I like to keep them in the fridge for snacks. So lets say 6. Put six eggs gently in a pan and cover completely with cold water. Bring them to boil on the stove, and allow them to gently boil 15 minutes. Remove from heat, rinse with cold water. I find this helps the shells come off easier.
Best of luck on the new project.

An egg timer is for 9 minutes...If I am doing alot of eggs then I do 11 minutes! Make sure water is boiling before you put in the eggs! Alot of people don't know the exact time so don't feel bad!

okay first of all it depends on how many eggs u want to have.
it don't matter anyway.,u should know how many u want to eat........as long as the water covers the eggs and is really hot.
that all,.... you don't need to add anything just water and the eggs. (after it's done in about 15-20 mins add ur salt and pepper) enjoy!
