You have picked THE best time to go! It's nice and hot but not unbearable and it's busy enough to be interesting but not packed out. If you have time I cannot recommend enought that you ckeck out Koh Samui and Koh Tao. Particularly Koh Tao which is beautiful and still largely unspoiled.

I'm really jealous. Have a fabulous time! ;-)

May should be fine to go. It will get a bit busier in June when there is school holiday to contend with the locals, especially during weekends.

Looking for beaches, Krabi and Koh Phi Phi will be great places to enjoy a nice holiday. In fact around Krabi, there are other islands like Koh Lanta. You can try to include that if you have time, all in Krabi province.

There will be guesthouses, easy to find in Krabi, but Koh Phi Phi, you just have to chance it as there are not too many of them on that island. Just be ready to stay in a better place with a little bit more cost, may be up to 1300-1500baht a night. Just in case.

Oh, from Bangkok, you can fly to Phuket and then travel to Krabi either by bus or other transport means.

Have a good holiday.

Thailand is fabulous when ever you go.Krabi is great really laid back and no hassle. Hotels drop drastically in price at that time of the year and you will have no bother finding somewhere to stay.If you want to book your accommodation before arriving try visiting Sawadee.com The booking system is really easy and I have always found them very reliable.Asia Air fly to Krabi from Bangkok very reasonable prices,I have just booked with them this week,as I'm going to Krabi next week.Hope you have a great time,

Its not as busy, but the weather is crazy!. Gueshouses will be easy to find, but hopefully they wont' be full. I'd guess that they wont, as May isnt really a peak season anyways.

i can answer your first question... my dear friend told me that october to march is the so-called high-season in thailand - lots & lots of tourists & all.... while the rest of the year is the low-season. so it'll be ok when you go there in may/june...
