I had one last year and ended up having to go to the emergency room. The best thing to do is pinch it at the bridge of your nose. Dont tilt your head back because blood will go down your throat and make you sick to your stomach. If the pinching doesn't work get some afrin and put it on cotton and pack your nose with this. The ER Dr. also told me that a cut tampon works great for packing the nose.

Actually, if you have your head back, blood can go down your throat and possibly into your lungs, which is really bad and can lead to respiratory distress.

What you want to do is keep an ice pack on the bridge of your nose (the dip in between eyes) and TILT your head forward. Pinch your nose where you feel it is bleeding from. Do not stick anything into the nose, instead keep gauze, dressing, tissue, or something else at the nostrils. If bleeding doesn't stop after 45 minutes, then it's time to see the E.R. doctor!

place a piece of ice in your mouth. The cold helps speed up the clotting process. My son has nose bleeds all the time. This trick is amazing!

Simply lay down on your back. Place a rolled towel under you neck to push your head back. Apply cold ice. In no time the bleeding should stop.

pinch the top , gristle just from the bone , tild back slightly , and wait until it subsides.. nosebleeds are completly natural in most cases , and indicate in some circumstance that you are healthy , as the nose vessels seem designed to be the weakest point for natural blood expulsion

Keep your head upright and pinch your nostrils shut. dont bother tilting your head back unless you happen to enjoy the taste of blood.
