Ok, this is a touchy subject, but here goes.
I am Wiccan, and like Riegan stated also have an aquaintance who is Lucifarian, but even by Lucifarian standards she is a bit out there.
I believe in religious tolerance, so she is free to worship in any way she deems fit. But I also believe in the "And it harm none" law as well. Which is why I have choosen not to associate myself with her any longer. She has stated point blank that she would stab you in the back, and screw anyone over if it bettered her life.
That I will not abide by.
Now having said that, yes there is a level of witchcraft in Lucifarian, and yes they do have coven's and hold rituals. Magick, and energy is androgynous, which means it is neither good nor bad, it is the weilder that makes it so.
Simon I am sorry for what happened to you, as it must have been a traumatic experience, but when you delve into things you have little or no knowledge of you can get hurt. I have been a practicing witch for over 25 years and have seen some very scary things in my time. Some of which I could not control, but was thankful someone was there who was more experienced than I. When dealing with anything unknown, especially in the outer realms it is best to know what you are doing. You wouldn't drive a car, or do heart surgery without training and education right?
On a side note, I am not a "Goth" have never been one. I don't dress in black, my hair is red, naturally, and I am Manager of a very prominant business in my town. I am a wife, and mother of 3, and have been a practicing witch for over 25 years, and have been Wiccan for 5. I own my own home, have a mini-van, 4 cats (not my choice, my husband likes cats) one dog, and a vegitable garden in my back yard. I could even be your neighbour.
Wicca, is a far cry from Satanism, Lucifarian or any other "dark path". We acknowledge darkness is there, and we make the concious choice not to follow it. Satanism, is a Christian concept, as there is no Satan in Wicca.

a Satanist is really just an atheist who brands his humansim with devil's horns.
Satanism is very similar to humanism, the belief that man is the center of the universe and not any god
When I was younger I rebelled against life and took drugs and listened to heavy metal music. Satanism, satanic and occult immagery and Satan worship seemed appealing to me (pentagrams etc) evil was the new good to me.
Since it has passed, the hypocrasy of somehow worshipping an evil god while at the same time rejecting the reality of a good god got to me.... plus my life was in ruins.
It is much easier to break something than to put it back together
Choose wisely

Sorry, but no. God is real but satan was just made up by people who didn't want to take responsibility for their own actions. We all have good and evil within us, and we are free to choose which we want to be. God doesn't punish us if we make the "wrong" choice, however, there are natural consequences for the choices we make and the actions we take, and these consequences can be very unpleasant. Keep in mind that what comes around does indeed go around. Peace to you.

Eh, I'm a Pagan who uses much of the Satanic Philosophy.
How'd I get into it? I read a lot, found out that I have parts of me that normal people would find scary, and decided I loved those parts. I also learned I like having fun, and not feeling guilt.

I am now a Christian, but was not always so.
When I was a young kid, I was put out on the street by my stepmother. At 8 years old I was living under a bridge, bathing in a drainage creek, and still attending school cause I had nothing better to do with my time. I would steal to eat, and for that matter, anything else I needed. One day I got caught stealing, and a man offered me a job bussing tables in his burger stand. It kept me alive. I was 14 when I had had all I could stand and tried to commit suicide. Needless to say I didn't have any friends to speak of. I stank, I didn't have anyone to teach me right from wrong, how to act or anything. Cops found me, and DSS forced my family to take me back in.
They sent me to Florida for a bit to get me away from all that had hurt me. While there, I made a friend, and watched him get killed right beside me in a drive by. It was traumatizing, to say the least.
When I came back to the Carolinas, I started High school, and met a girl my first day there. She introduced me to her friends, who were luciferians. I had no idea what they were about, but they were nice to me, which noone else I knew in school was. I was poor and went to a very wealthy school. They introduced me to all kinds of new ideas, starting with basic witchcraft rituals and spells, and I noticed that some of the stuff I was seeing and participating in WORKED!
This caused me to delve further into this thing that I was finding to be the truth. I wanted to know all about it. By the time I graduated high school, I was a practicing Warlock, a Level 3 Blood Mage, a practicing Luciferian priest, holding services twice a week, and the leading demonologist in my county.
Then came the night with Jason. He was a friend of mine, and I won't delve into the story here, but we both got beat up one night by something we couldn't see. Everyone in my coven was there, and the demon that we summoned, well, it blew us out of the water. Jason was crushed at the ankles, knees, hips, had broken ribs, shoulders pulled out of socket, and an indention in his skull that stayed with him and eventually killed him. I had my hands on him when it happened, trying to pull him to some sort of safety, as if there was any. I had my wrist broken and my jaw dislocated by this... thing. I have no other real word for it. Demon, as it applies to modern American english just doesn't describe the level of evil in that place that night.
After that, our coven disbanded. Everyone except for me and one other died mysterious deaths within 2 years after the incident. I had become a Christian, and the other person was still practicing. The other person was the girl I originally met. Five years later, they did come for me, (more than 40 attempts in 4 months) but what they found when they tried to kill me was that, well, I was better trained and more willing to protect myself than they were to kill me. We will leave it at that.
Anyway, that's my story...
Hope it helps...

i know a girl who is luciferian. she used to be a friend, but when she explained her path to our group of pagan friends, we thought it was in our best interest to avoid her. we don't wish her harm in anyway, but she has stated that in her faith, she is looking out for HER anything she does in this life is to better herself and it doesn't matter who she steps on to get what she wants. so for this reason, we stay clear of her. if she ever sees a lighter path, i will be here for her
as far as how people get into it, it seems to me that they are the type of people who feel powerless, and this path promises power to them. they just don't realize that there are other positive ways to achieve power. you don't have to step on others to get it. one day they'll figure it out
EDIT: Simple Man - do not, i repeat do not go around spreading lies that witchcraft is intertwined with luciferianism! they are 2 completely different paths! you were not in a "coven" and spirits didn't beat you and your friends up and kill them all! i'm sorry for your difficult past, but please don't make the people who actually practise wicca or witchcraft out to be something we're not!

I'm not, but the fools who are don't seem to get the supreme joke; Beelzebub doesn't give a rip if your loyal to him ot not; he just uses the stupid to do his dirty work then casts them off when they are no longer useful.
