Read the scripture again. It says a river gushed forth. NO mention of blood which might indicate puncture of the lung cavity much like a doctor does for pleurisy.

The spear went into Jesus's heart, not His stomach.
The blood He shed for us for the redemption of our sins.
The water was for the cleansing of our sins.
Redeem brings us back to God.
Cleansing washes so we can be free from the filth of the world. This is why baptism is important
