you can check the taskbar for any applications that are running, or you can press ctrl+alt+delete and the windows task manager will pop up. you can see all the programs that are running, all the processes, and even how much processing power and RAM you are using.

Hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete and choose Task Manager. In Task Manager, the Processes tab lists all the programs running.

Okay, everyone is giving you the basic stuff but knowing the process name is generally not much help.
Go to start->programs->accessories->system tools->system information
Open Software Environment and then Running Tasks.
This will give you a list of the running processes and the area on the disk drive that they come from. It also has version and date information on each task.

press CTRTL+ALT+DELETE all at the same time and it will op[en up a new windows saying windows task manamger. Press the Processes TAB and u will see all the program that are running in ur computer....
