My partner has a drink driving offence from 2000 will he need to apply for a visa to enter the us

yes he will and it is possible he wont get one, they dont normally grant them for people with convictions, especially since 9/11

Yes, he will definitely need one. If he tries to risk it and go in on a visa waiver then don't be surprised if he is turned back.

Yes I'm afraid he will they have strong rules about allowing anyone in to USA with any kind of convicton.
