I don't think you can stop it from crowing. You have to remove it or go away from the place where there are crows, or you better stay in a sound-proofed room.

That is how they establish territory-every time they crow, they are pretty much saying, "This is mine!" (Why it is necessary for them to say it so many times is beyond me, but that's the way it is.) When you live in the country, they answer each other back and forth. They crow more at some hours than others; mine would crow more in the morning before noon, then start up again around 4 pm before going to sleep at dusk. They would sing a couple times at midnight, and start up again at 4:00 am. I could tell time by their crowing. This is what roosters do; other than operating on his vocal chords, there isn't much you can do. Birds sing; roosters crow. You either get used to it or you don't. It's really hard if you have him crowing at the other side of a wall, though. I suggest you give him away to a farm or someone who breeds chickens, if he's yours. If he belongs to a neighbor, have a talk with them. You can always get some sound-cancelling headphones if he's not letting you sleep at night, if nothing else works.

You didn't provide much to go on. Is he yours? A neighbors?
Some seem to crow more than others. 2 will generally crow more than one. Unusual to crow all day long. Ours usually crow between 4 and 6 in the am, then only occasionally after that. If one just can't get along, then the stew pot is the only answer.

Unfortunately you don't. That is what roosters do crow all day and all night. Talk to the owner of the rooster to try to settle the issue.

This rooster ended up in my backyard, hanging out when it was below 0º f. I checked the neighbors, but nobody 'fessed up. At -20º I brought him into house and installed him in a dog crate.
He is gorgeous and friendly, but once he warmed up he began crowing non-stop which is pretty annoying.
I got a couple of contacts who said they had friends who had an appropriate place for him - barn with animals, land - but they vanished once I got serious about his living elsewhere.
Guess I gotta build a coop and move him outside once the weather thaws. I never meant to have a rooster, or even hens.
Everybody has about 5 acres here, partly wooded - we can't see each other's homes much, but the noise sure travels.

How do you stop nature from doing what it does best? The fact, that you hear a rooster, tells me you live in a zoning area, that allows animals of barnyard nature. If that's the case, and you are bothered by such natural occurrances, I have to tell you, with all due respect, don't move to those areas. That's about all you can do.

You will eventualy learn to block it out. Im a a professional poultry beeder, and general poultryman at the loft, and we have 23 crowing rosters. on the other hand occasionaly ther is one that chooses to roost it the wrong spot, and a 22 cal. fedral shell out of a s&w 22 often does the trick

sorry to say, thats what roosters do.... I have 12! Find him a good home, and if you still want chickens, go with hens, You'll still get eggs, even though a rooster isn't on the property.

Bury a knife and put some seeds of maize on top or whatever the rooster eats. after eating it shall stop. Make sure to bury the knife where the rooster frequents.

This is not a joke. try it. it will 100% work
