We proabably should change it to metric because EVERYBODY else uses metric. Have you been to Europe (or anywhere outside the US)?
This would make it easier for US to adapt if we got outside of our little bubble!

The whole world, and all scientists use the metric system...
It might be time for americans to adapt to what is the international standard instead of keeping a system that is impractical.
Now I am not saying it should be done for mexican immigrants, it should just be done because it would be the logical thing to do.

I'm sorry but only a few countries like the US don't use the metric system. and why is that? well for instance the US likes to make thing really simple for their citizens. Maybe the US government should change to the metric system. WELCOME TO THE CLUB!
Three countries use non-metric measurement systems; Liberia, Myanmar, and the United States.

Back in the 70's supposedly America was going to go metric.
I was taught the metric system in elementary school because we (as a nation) were going to convert. Obviously that conversion never happened.
The metric system really is a lot easier to use.

Virtually the entire rest of the world uses the metric system. The US tried, and many of us who went to school in the 70s and early 80s learned both. The metric system is logical in ways that our measurement isn't-why not use units of ten, which can be easily multiplied or dividied. rather than eight or twelve, which are much harder numbers to work with in your head. It's not about Mexicans or any other culture...but about simplicity.

We tried that, remember back in the seventies? The only thing that stuck was the two-liter bottle of soda. If anything, Mexico should convert to our system, they depend on dollars as it is. No, we do not need to convert to the metric system and we do not need to start calling soccer football.

Nope, but thanks for coming up with another reason why Mexicans who refuse to assimilate should be deported.
Bill Gates just wants to sell more Windows operating systems to Mexicans. Don't think for one minute that he cares about poor Mexicans, he wants you to come here make money and buy computers. He's the world's richest "greedy-takeover" dork.

There is no reason for the citizens of the US to have to change anything to adapt to those who want to come here to live. That includes learning their languages to make it easier for them, thats not how it works.

And why don't we change to Spanish as the official language at the same time?
