Recognizing depression is a good first step!

If you don't want to be on medication, you can try some other things. First of all, you may want consider counseling. Although there is sometimes some resistance to counseling, it really can be very very helpful.

Another thing that may help depression is exercise-especially outside in the sun. It's been proven that being in the sun helps stabilize that neurotransmitters in the brain that may be the guilty party in depression.

I also recommend getting involved in a religious group (whatever your religion is). Studies have shown that being involved in a religious organization (like a church) provides people with a support system and the hope they need to overcome their depression

Finally I recommend going to your doctor. Not for medication, but because your doctor is a great resource for names of counselors and support groups that you can get involved in. It will also give you someone to help you out during this time.

But if your symptoms persist or get worse, you may want to consider medication. Talk to your doctor about this.

Good luck with everything!

Make sure that you're eating and excersizing enough and try to get enough water and start taking a multivitamin every day. I'm usually less depressed when I'm in a relationship - that could help.

if u mix that with some natural anti-depressants, you should be fine. there's a list of some here:

First, seek medical treatment......don't lie to the Doc. your paying the bill. Tell him you don't want meds.

There are a variety of Juices on the market (monaVie) all natural, kind of pricey. Graet for the body and soul.

You need to take care of yourself, pin point what the problems are and reward yourself everytime you overcome even the smallest hurdle. Self rewards builts self estime.

lots of light..in the winter turn on all the lights. the bright light stimulates your brain.

No alcholol, exersice and talking about it all help!

Good luck

You need to surround yourself with people that make you feel happy, make you feel great! You can exercise, go out to dinner and do lots of stuff that will boost up your mood. Don't seclude yourself in one place with noone to talk to. Get out in the sun and I hope this helps!
