Get outside and look around you. Find beauty in things you see everyday. Start each day thinking about what you have to be grateful for just one thing the first day two the next and so on. for example you could be grateful that you are breathing or that you got to eat the day before. If there are people that are bringing you down stay away from them make new friends go to a coffee house or museum but get out and meet people. Of course you also need to talk about your problems find a person that you can confide in, not a family member they never understand. I go through this at least once a year and I follow these ideas and it always works. Good Luck

You may be able to rid yourself of depression by positive thinking. However, there is frequently a chemical imbalance that's responsible for depression and only the correct medication will alleviate it.
If all else fails, call Tom Cruise. He seems to think he knows it all.

see a therapist/talk to somebody. exercise, cool it with alcohol and caffeine. exercise gets all of your juices flowing in the rigt direction. alcohol and caffeine just stimulate/depress at the same time while simply diverting those juices.
