Go here to find a piercer http://www.safepiercing.org
Make sure that you do research on the piercing, http://www.bmezine.com is a good place to start. Ask the piercer you go to to show you pictures of surface piercings on hips that he has done that are HEALED. And good piercer will have the person come back after about 6 months to have a photo taken. A surface piercing will have a high rejection rate, especially on the hip where there is alot of wear on the skin by clothing, ect. Do the sea salt soaks religiously, and follow the aftercare instructions EXACTLY, and you will be fine

The cost depends on the piercer AND what you want and where. I have my eyebrow, labrae, and multiple piercings on both of my ears. I did the ears myself, cleaning ALL of the piercings both before and after piercing them.
My eyebrow has healed somewhat. But if it gets bumped, it does hurt a little, which is normal.
Just make sure that YOU keep up with the cleaning routine after you get whatever you want pierced.
Keep in mind, any piercing through the skin will either sting for a few minutes, or hurt for awhile. It all depends on your pain tolerance and your body's ability to adjust to something new (especially a piece of metal going through your skin lol)
Just be smart, and know what you're going to do before you do it. Have fun!

Healing hip surface piercings is a long process, as they tend to get knocked around a fair bit. Some will never fully heal. Others will reject before they can heal.
Price varies.
Make sure you get them done with proper titanium or surgical steel surface bars, preferably with flat disks as opposed to beads. You want to keep the piercing as low profile as you can to avoid getting it caught on anything. You absolutely need to baby them if you want to keep them long term.

well a surface barbell on your hip wouldnt do that great.. i thik it would reject more quickly.. are tou talkign abotut he front of the hip or on the side?
you will have a better chance of having a successful piercing wiht dermal anchoring or microdermal anchoring. which is somewhat permanent it they dont reject. but only a small cut needs to be made in the skin to pop them out..
go to bmezine.com and look up microdermal anchoring and dermal anchoring in their encyclopedia.
anyways. im going to a tatto convention next weekend and im thinking about getting micro dermals there in the back of my neck (nape) or the cleavage.. the micro dermals the part that goes underneath the skin is only 3/32" long! so they are VERY TINY! dremal anchors are bigger though..
good luck! an dmake sure you do alot of research and find somsone who has been successful with surface piercings.!

It depends on where you go but i believe they are around $70+ I wouldn't recommend getting them because they don't have a very high healing rate and have higher tendency to reject

Surface piercings don't usually last because your body heals itself and will "push it out".

i've heard that when you get a surface piercing the body will "reject" the piercing and eventually it will come out...
good luck with that!

like, the skin on your hip bone? that is a little odd. have you found a place to do it? you could just ask them. if you havnt then i would say, work on finding a place that is willing to do it, and then just ask.
