Depending on the food manufacturer, the color of the cheese (orange, yellow, or white) may signify different ingredients or process. Some manufacturers reserve the white and yellow colors for their more natural (i.e. fewer additives) American Cheese varieties.

The difference is food coloring. There is an ongoing battle as to how dye effects us, and to what degree, so I would choose white American given the choice.

Yellow Coloring. It isnt even actually cheese. The package actually says "Processed Cheese Food". gross.
