For Pete's sake -- don't do this. There are low-lifes out there who are constantly working on ways to get to your personal information. Norton AV is the last thing you want to disable.

Download a freeware from www.startGuard.net
Install the program. It will give the option about what you
you want to allow at start-up.

Those programs will not be disabled. You can run them
any time after start-up.

Right click on the icon and there a window
will open up with a place to disable it.

Open Norton antivirus, then turn "auto-protect" feature off in the settings menu.

I'll say only one thing... uninstall that junk called Norton.

Download and install this powerful free antivirus. Besides it's very light, so it won't slow down your system by consuming resources.
