my face has a harrassed and worried expression 24/7. this is probably because i dont trust any1 with my problems. even my family. this foundation of trust has been developed thru experience. any suggestions to soothe me other than recommending a shrink? this is interfering with my studies too. the problems i have are normal. i guess i worry too much. is there any way it can be helped???

Honey,i have 4 kids 1 wife who does not work,my own business cutting big trees,a house that was built in 1885,needs alot of work,and there is so much snow on the ground i have not work in months,and im not worried,im quite happy,been doing this for 16 years now.Get happy!

I have had the same problem in the past and found it helped to write down all the things I worried about. Then you look at the list and a) rate them in terms of what you worry the most about and b) of those worries imagine what the worst thing would be if they came true, what the actual probability of that happening is and c)if it were to actually come true then plan for what you would do. Writing this down helps you to realise the mostly absurd amount of unnecessary worrying one does, and that by planning for the worst terrible outcome you can feel relieved.

Ahhh...I used to have a friend that worried excessively about everything. This was a foreign practice to me because I am naturally a laid back person (maybe too much so), and generally believe that once I've done as much as I can do to solve a problem, I have to trust the universe with the rest. This allieviates my mind, and frees up space for me to focus on other things that bring positivity into my life. These things for me are sports, writing, music, etc. Hope this helps.

You can seek counseling rather than a shrink. And there's nothing wrong with that. It sounds like you're at least in your early 20s and you need some room to breathe. Life can be stressful and if you don't have an outlet for releasing stress, it will only get worse. Make time for yourself to do things you enjoy. Go for walks or do other exercise to release energy built up.

I'm with you on this problem. I got a great suggestion from someone on this site. They told my to write down what I'm worried about and then write the worst and bast case senario for each one. Even if the worse case senario is really bad, at least your mind can wrap around it for a moment and it's somewhat prepared. Then when the problem resolves itself you can look back and be like --WOW it wasn't as bad as I thought. It gets better and better. If you still have alot of trouble then talk to a friend or take one day to yourself and only yourself.
