I want something special this year because I gave him so many tshirts, slippers, cd-s, perfumes, car accesories, etc.
Although he will be 70, he is a very active person, he runs his own business, spending most of the time in the car, travelling. That's why he dosen't get much spare time.
He will organize a huge party and somebody suggested that we should hire a belly dancer :))
Any other interesting ideas?
Thanks a lot!

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it more of a homemade feeling.

Time spent with a parent is the greatest way to show that you love them.

Set up a date for you and dad.... take him to lunch then take him shopping for a new outfit. Do not take no for an answer. After shopping and returning home, head right to his closet and remove his oldest or your least favorite outfit of his and donate it to charity. You just replaced that outfit with one he pick out during your day out.

Everyone has someone thing in their closet that they know they could get rid of. Make it easier on him by doing the date thing and getting a new outfit. Lunch will be great as well for simply talking and sharing is showing love when it comes to a parent.

Was your dad in the military? For my dad's 65th birthday we re-united him with a Navy Buddy of his he hadn't seen since the 1970's. We also had a picture of the aircraft carrier he served on blown up and framed. ThaT meant the world to him. Since the party my dad and his Navy buddy still stay intouch . It's like no time between them ever passed. We are all proud of their military service.

why not just spend time with him. If there is already a party in the making, why not just take him off somewhere that the two of you like to go. Fishing, a little picnic, things of that sort. If you feel you need to get him something why not ask him what he might like, because his age they usually already have everything that they want.
