Well, what colour is the mucus?

If it's clear, then it's post nasal drip.
Yellow or greenish mucus is a sign of infection and you need to see the doctor for some antibiotics.

The best way to treat Post-Nasal Drip is a good nose spray, like Dristan or Otrivin, rather than a cough syrup.

Also, try drinking hot drinks, and taking hot steamy showers, that should help open your nasal passages.

Hope you feel better soon.

I am no doctor but I do have serious sinus issues! In fact I am still trying to get over ear infections because a sinus infection got out of hand thanks to allergies!
ANyway for normal circumstances I take Sudafed(sp) day or night.. and it clears me up. Allergies can pop up from what seems like out of no where and you may be expierencing allergies (the sneezing and coughing) and no cold meds are going to help you. A sinus infection can clear up on it's own IF it is not to bad... I know do it all the time... However if you are not a sinus sufferer on a normal basis(even if you are and you can't get rid of it on your own... as I couldn't this time around) .. get to your doctor and have them help you... Always the best route!

Green tea can help out as well!

Your symptoms sound like mine, you need a decongestant to open up your nasal passages, something that breaks up the mucus and something for the sneezing. I think they refer to these as anti-histamines. Before you medicate yourself, make sure you read the label very carefully and only purchase something for the symptoms that you are having. I have seasonal allergies and your symptoms match mine. My doctor prescribed Claritin and a nasal spray which work quite well. Good luck and I really hope that you feel better.

You might have allergies, upper respiratory infection, a cold or bronchitis.... But you could try a vaporizer for overnight relief and maybe some Benadryl (when you go to bed~might make you sleepy).
During the day maybe Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold.
If no better in day or so you need to go to the Dr.
Oh OH and some chicken noodle soup.

You should'nt be taking medical advice from strangers. I would go to a doctor. If it requires a lot of medicine who cares? it will make you feel better!
