I can't tell you where to find one, but can give you some advice about bringing one home. Buy a couple of cheap receiving blankets and take with you. Rub them all over the Mother. Wrap your baby in the blankets for the ride home and then put them in the crate. Your puppy will not cry at night or when it is in the crate when you are away.

First of all, if you are looking primarily for a pet, then try your local shelters and animal rescue groups. There are many shih-tzu mixes and types looking for good pet homes.
If your heart is set on a purebred dog, contact your local kennel club or veterinarian, who can put you in contact with a breeder. Not all puppies are show quality, and often breeders will have a youngster that is available to a pet home. They may have kept the puppy for a few months to "grow it out" and see if it would be show quality, but it isn't. These puppies are often available at a reasonable price.
But, regardless of price, if you buy from a breeder, make sure they do the recommended health testing, including patellas and elbows, so that you don't have a huge expense down the road for a poorly bred dog.

You can look on the ad boards at your nearest pet supply stores, you see them alot in the local paper ads also, they are very good dogs. It is hard to find one at a lower price, they are very popular dogs. Smart too. But beware, of trusting getting it from just anyone, some times, dogs are cross-bred, and the can have serious health problems from it, like webbed feet, under growth of organs, and so, this is what I was warned of, when I shopped for my dog. It can be mixed breed, but not inner bred with one of it's own sibblings. Best of luck too you.

There is a website that you can try if it is available in your area. I use it quite often and have seen ppl list dogs of all kinds.. its called freecycle.com
People list things they are getting rid of and also post things they are looking for, nothing is bought or sold on this site, everything is free. If you dont find the dog your looking for up there, who knows you may find some other kind of household items you need..

why not check out rescues or shih tzu mixes? if you get a puppy from an online seller for cheap, you will probably end up with a poorly bred and possibly sick dog. bargain shopping for dogs isn't a good idea.

Breeders would cost you a pretty penny. Best bet is call around to your local vet hospitals and see if they have any there that is lost and they are trying to find homes for them. They might even know of someone for you to call. Also, go to your local shelter. They might have some there also that needs a good home.
