Are mopeds safe? They are as safe as the rider and how well you maintain it; however, the risk is higher. The question is whether you are willing to take on the higher risk of riding one. Only you can answer that. If you have a life insurance, your premiums would likely go up. That's a testament to the risks that surrounds riding a moped (or any two-wheeler for that matter). As long as you are a safe driver, you should be fine. Always wear a helmet. There are classes you can take on how to drive a moped or motorcycle.

As long as you can ride a bicycle, you can probably drive a moped. They are safe as long as you don't drive like an idiot or aim into traffic.

mopeds are perfectly safe - the problem is that car drivers don't always see you. if you get one, make sure that you always ride with the lights on and wear reflective clothing.

They are safe but they don't look well on just anyone. You need to look at yourself in the mirror and see if the style suits your face and body. Also they need to fit properly as sometimes a strong wind can take it right off. But it could also make your life much easier....you are good to go in minutes. But it's a personal choice so only chose it if YOU want to not your boyfriend.

They're as safe as the rider, and other road users make them! Make sure you have all the right gear on to protect yourself when you come off, as you surely will at some stage.

If you are not confident think twice, after all if you come off there's nothing between you & the road!!!!!!!!!
