It all depends on you,what you really want and what you can offer to your pet.Remember, regardless to your choise, you must treat your pet the same way you would treat a child and some times more.Anyway, dogs are more depended on you and they always need your attention but you will also understand the meaning of the phrase "a man's best friend". A dog will love you,protect you be there for you no matter what.A cat on the other hand, is more independed,more distant and you get the feeling that she needs less.Wrong!She needs exactly the same but she'll tell you when! She's got character.Dogs and cats are different.In my opinion,the best critirias to make up your mind are:
How big your house is.
Do you need protection?
How much time can you spend for and with your pet?
If you are a "bossy" type get a dog but if you appreciate independent characters get a cat.
If you can have them both,like me,you will be amazed!

A dog will need more attention than a cat will.Cats can be trained to use a litter box.You will need to walk your dog many times a day so they can do what they have to,if you do not have a back yard.But then you 'll have to pick up after them.Dogs want to play and be near you a lot.A cat will take long naps.Cats clean them-self .A dog you will need to give a bath.There are pros and cons to each one.

There is no better. A lot depends on the situation. Obviously you like both. The cat is less maintance as it doesn't need to go outside. It should be neutered and declawed if it will be inside only. You can leave a cat 2-3 days, you don't have to let it out to potty or take it for walks.

A dog they help people and save them. Cats are the laziest animals cause they never save people like dogs.

I think it is your idea. if you think the cat is helpful for you to catch mice , The cat is better. But If you think the dog is helpful for you to keep your house safe, the dog is better.In other solution, you will khow "What's better the dog or the cat"

Dogs....cats are useless.
Dogs are one of the most useful animals to human society...seeing eye dogs, drug dogs, bomb dogs, search dogs, sled dogs, sheep herding dogs, hunting dogs, watch dogs, hearing dogs, ranch dogs, police dogs...the list goes on
The only thing cats are good for is catching mice.

I THINK ALL ANIMALS ARE FUN AND LOVING IN THEIR OWN WAY. I HAVE 3 CATS AND THEY ARE AWESOME AND FUNNY AND ENTERTAINING AND LOVING ETC. I ALSO HAVE A 89 POUND BLACK LAB WHO LOVES TO GO EVERYWHERE WITH ME, LOVES THE KITTYS, THE KIDS, KEEPS ME BUSY, ETC. I ALSO HAVE A HAMSTER, SHE IS SO FUNNY AND LOVING ALSO, ONE OF MY CATS IS BEST FRIENDS WITH THE HAMSTER AND THEY ARE ALSO FUNNY TO WATCH RUBBING THROUGH THE CAGE ON EACHTHER. I ALSO HAVE THREE FISH THEY ALMOST CAN BE FED FROM MY HANDS, THEY COME TO TOP FOR FOOD AND ARE SO FUNNY, THEY FOLLOW THROUGH THE GLASS AT MY FINGER. SO GET ONE OF EACH IF YOUR AN ANIMAL LOVER LIKE ME, WE ALL SHOULD, THERE ARE TOO MANY HOMELESS WONDERFUL LOVING PETS OUT THERE.
