Has anyone had a positive experience on MySpace?
My teenage son got involved with the site recently so I created my own account. Used all correct information (including age & photo) except for the name. My mailbox immediately began to fill with messages from scammers, and that was all I got for the ten days before I closed the account. Did try sending messages (didn't say anything creepy or forward).to people who "looked" real, but got no replies.

I barred messages from anyone under 18 and only tried to contact people who said they were an adult.

Thanks to all for your answers. It appears he should keep his profile set on "private" to avoid the scammers.

Myspace was not like that before that why I deleted my account because now all I get is scams and a few message from my friends......I think myspace has a virus or something but it's a good site to keep in contact with your friends and people you have not seen in a while even family

I have found the younger generation to be absolutely obsessed with the sight, however, for me personally I don't see the benefit. You may not have received replies because they hadn't added you to their friends list after seeing your profile. People are on MySpace for different reasons. If you are looking to meet people, try the singles websites.

yes i use myspace alot and i don't see any problem with it. even though i'm 20 i will talk to anyone as long as they are over the age of 18 though. The site isn't as bad as some people make it out to be.

its really hard to meet someone on myspace. i rarely get replies back and if i do it doesnt last long. i have had one good experience though. a cute girl wrote me once and i met her in person the same day and we went out but thats the only thing i've gotten from myspace. i only use myspace to keep in touch with friends.

Your son just needs to learn only to talk to his friends, the ones he knows in person!!!! Yes, he will get junkmail all the time, but he needs to learn how to delete & ignore!! There's not much wrong in myspace, just people are gullible & go with what others say...

I have been on myspace for 3.5 years. I have had some positive experiences... I have found so many people from my past because of this website. It's pretty neat.

Myspace many times has server themes. many circumstances, too many people attempt to log in on a similar time. i exploit cable modem for information superhighway, and if I refresh, my internet site many times comes correct up.
