Would you support a law requiring any increase in congressional pay be preceded in the same fiscal year by a proportional decrease in the tax burden (all brackets) levied upon the people? And any increase in the tax burden (for any bracket) levied upon the people must be preceded in the same fiscal year by a proportional cut in congressional pay (all members)?

If the bill was properly publicized, can you imagine watching legislators squirm trying to figure out how to vote against it without sacrificing their popularity?

Michael E has a good point, but if they did that, I wonder how the public would react?
The point is to keep anything they do in the public eye.

No. They would devise a way to reclassify their pay, effectively reducing their pay by 100%. This will allow them to double all tax rates in a single year, while they continue to earn just as much as they were to begin with. Remember, most of them were lawyers first...

Its always the same everywhere someone taking our money!
This is an on going epidemic world wide. Whether we like it or not they usually just create a different approach to take our money in another way. What can we do? Revolution?? Politians are all criminals, elected criminals!
