I always feed my expectant dogs a large breed puppy food. You have a Rotti and I suggest you feed her a large breed puppy food also. I would not give her any supplements unless your vet tells you too. If she healthy and in god shape no other vitamins are necessary. Her body is already under a strain because of caring the pups excess vitamins will only put more of a strain on her organs trying to get rid of the unnecessary over load. Also feed her more often 3 times a day she needs all the extra calories.
Hope this helps you out.

Do not give your dog any supplements unless your vet prescribes it! As long as your dog is healthy she will be able to give all the puppies what they need. Hills/ Natures Best Complete puppy food is a great diet or Royal Canin. The feeding ratios will be on the sides of the bags for your guidelines.

Try feeding her puppy food. I heard that works for pregnant dogs. Check Iams.com

I went through this. You can buy special powdered milk - which you would use for the pups if you need to hand feed them at all - this is really good for the mum to drink now. I gave my doggy all the same stuff as she normally ate, but if she seemed more hungry, i'd give her a bit extra. She didn't really go off any of her normal food until near the end, when i gave her mince and rice, she really enjoyed that.

Many breeders and vets will say to put them on puppy food, but I never have with my schnauzers, and have never had a problem because of that. I just feed them more food, and when I had my litter of nine, I had planned to supplement the puppies, but our refrigerator died shortly after the litter was whelped and we couldn't get another one in for three weeks. That (around 15#) b***h raised all nine puppies by herself, and she was eating six cups of food a day.
You could try moistening her food with a bit of warm water, or adding a bit of canned food to it to tempt her a bit. A few do go off their food a few days before whelping; my last one did that, and then didn't want to eat for about three days after whelping.

I always feed a puppy food, preferably a natural food, like Wellness, Nurto Natural Choice, or Holistic.

When you take her for her vaccinations, worming and check up, ask the vet for a diet sheet.
Generall they need extra nutrition as the pups get bigger, and a lot when they're nursing; but its easy to overdo it. Fat dogs can have trouble giving birth, and too much of some nutrients can be dangerous! Its best to use dog food rather than try to do it yourself.

I highly recommend Eukanuba Puppy food. That's what I always used when I was breeding Shelites and we always had healthy puppies. You will also want to give her some calcium tablets.

slippery elm with some porridge and a pinch of garlic powder. that's also great to feed the puppies when they're born too, it's great for the immune system. you can ask for it in any health food shop.
