Why is it that the Airport Designator for Ft. Myers, Florida is RSW and why is it that the Airport Designator for Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Terriotry is NKW? Like, MSP is Minneapoils St. Paul, and DET is Detroti Michigan...it just doen't make sense to me and I'm trying to memorize these codes...Thanks!

The designator RSW was originally assigned for "Regional South-West" (for Southwest Florida Regional Airport). I'm not sure about NKW.
