Don't use too much oitment for one....and you could be having a reaction to whatever your using now...

Fresh Tattoo

Take bandage off in 2 hours
Wash tattoo carefully with warm soapy water
DO NOT SCRUB
Lightly pat the tattoo until dry…
DO NOT RUB
Apply a very thin coat of bacitracin or aquaphor ointment 3 times a day for 3 to 5 days
Although re-bandaging a tattoo is not recommended, if covering the tattoo is necessary a sterile bandage or dressing should be used.
Be sure and wash the tattoo every night and morning…
DO NOT SOAK
Avoid tattoo exposure to direct sunlight and refrain from swimming in fresh, salt or chlorinated water for at least 2 weeks.
After External Healing

Tattoos heal quickly BUT fading can still be a problem
Apply hand lotion once a day until dryness stops
Vaseline Intensive Care, Lubriderm, Nivea, etc...
Tanning fades tattoos
Always cover fully healed tattoo with sun block
DO NOT RUIN YOUR INVESTMENT!!!

bed mites do not live in waterbeds, i have one and i have many many tattoo's, chances of this being bed mite related are almost nil, you sleep in your own bed which, if its an ordinary matress will be a haven for them, water beds have nowhere for them to live, thats why they are used by people who have such allergies, amoung other medical groups. Whatever is wrong needs to be treated however and chances are its just healing. i cant help but wonder what being attacked by a spider leaves you looking like!!! an excellant cream to use is lasonil, its a tissue injury repair cream and keeps your work supple through the healing process whilst retaining all colour, i worked in a studio and recomended nothing else, ask your artists advice, thats the best thing, good luck

I'd agree; you are probably allergic to your ointment. And I disagree with the first answerer. Healing times vary from person to person, and also depend greatly on the type of tattoo (size, color, location). I have four on my thighs that took two weeks to completely heal. But the four on my arms healed within a few days. Personally, I use A&D ointment. The A and D stand for the vitamins in the ointment itself. It's kind of like "Tattoo Goo", but it's only $1.99 at Walgreens. Give it a shot; the worst that could happen is it doesn't work for you, but there are plenty of moisturizers out there. And if you really want to care for your tattoo, wash it at least three times a day. I got that from Nick Baxter himself. Check out his website: www.nickbaxter.com

good luck!

I almost bet money that you are allergic to your ointment. Or you are using too much. Switch ointments, and use only a light film. Also, be sure to wash the tat 2 to 3 times a day with a mild soap like Dove or Jergens. It may also be time to stop using ointment all together and start using a Fragrance Free lotion instead. Good luck.........

Listen to Blair it's probabally not spider bites, my friend has the same thing going on with her tattoo, she's allergic to the ointment she was using and she broke out with little itchy bumps surrounding the tattoo.

You can use anything really you tattoo should heal in a day really, depending on size. any itch relief will work. I just got my 12th tattoo on Friday and my healed by Saturday night. avoid sprays and use creams. it will also moisturize your tattoo. I normal start using lotion on my tattoo by day 2-3.

use a cooling outntment but first use betadine or something to dissinfect. naturally tatoos get swollen after you get them and the swelling will go down. but ice it and keep it covered with a sterile mandaid or someting till tis healed.

-i hope this helped!

i would suggest taking an antihistamine instead of putting something directly on it.try benadryl.it will help stop the allergic reaction and stop the itching.

I think creams or lotion should help with the pain & itching. You should tell him girl about those bed mites. sounds like he has them!
