Should I contact the hospital. I can't go on anymore. I am usually an A and B student, but now my grades going down the tube and I'm even thinking about dropping out of college. I can't concentrate on my work anymore because I am so drained and I feel so depressed. I keep crying, and sometimes I scream out loud and I can't stop. What should I do? I have midterms coming up, and big research projects, but I feel like I can't do them....

talk to someone that you trust - these feelings wont go away if you keep them bottled up! It sounds to me like you need some sort of counselling. Talking through your problems helps you to make sense of them an dmaybe understand why you are feeling this way. Did something happen to start all this off? Sometimes, Post Traumatic Stress after an accident or incident can cause you to feel like this. Don't deal with it on your own. Please, talk to someone. I went through something similar in my later teen years, and kept it bottled up inside. It didnt help anyone. And i Know its hard, but think about allthe positive things in your life. try to focus on them and where your qualificaitons will be taking you. If you feel that you wanna talk to someone, just email me. Good luck

RJ sorry to hear how bad you feel. Best see a doctor, hospitals are for acute emergencies, not long standing problems.

This line of thinking will probably get you on sedatives, not the psychotherapy that you probably need. Is there a college helpline where you can seek advice? Sometimes talking about your problems can help. It's keeping it all to yourself that drives you crazy. I know. Ive been there.

Share your crazyness and feelings with someone. Or just write all your depressing thoughts down in a long list. We all feel like that sometimes and that is perfectly normal. Perhaps you need an outlet for the stifling environment of learning that a college can be. Do you or can you do sport, art, or something that takes you away from your subject matter for a few hours? Also believe it or not, helping other people as a volunteer focuses you on soemthing worthwhile instead of the depressing thoughts going round your head.

When youve done your list. Make another one of all the things you are grateful for in this life. Maybe hard to do.

well...i honestly don't know. i have a friend going through the same thing but he's in high school. he's really stressed out because he's on the National Honors society list, and he's trying to maintain his averages around a's, but he can't do much with that anymore, so now he's depressed. Nervous breakdowns are not fun at all. I get them all the time. First you do start crying and i start vomiting then. i guess it's different with everyone though. i would find someone to talk to that understands you if possible. :]] heather.

You are stressed!!! Big time! I know the feeling of a nervous breakdown you may need medication to help until you get through this difficult time. Do not drop out of college you can do this I promise! If you are drained it is because of depression get to your doctor immediately and have him put you on some med's to help calm down your stress/anxiety too it will eventually help you out and try to sleep and rest anytime you can... hope this helps!

If you are fearful that you may actually harm yourself or others, then YES, you should go to the emergency room of your nearest hospital and they will be able to help you.

However, if you are not a potential danger to yourself or others, you need to try and get an appointment with a psychiatrist or a therapist as soon as possible.

Is there a student health center on campus? If so, you should be able to go there extremely cheaply or for free and see a doctor to let them know what's going on and get their advice and possibly a prescription for an anti-anxiety medication that may help. And at a student health center, an appointment is probably not required, you should be able to just walk right in.

In any event, you need to talk to a medical/mental health professional as soon as humany possible. I wish you the best of luck and hope that you find the help and care you need.

First off, have you had a vacation, ever? It sounds like you haven't had a break in years, take a break!!! You probably do need to go to a doctor, I'm not sure what kind of doctor with your situation. You might need a break from college, but that might be a bad decision, don't do anything too drastic, just try to get a break somehow. I hope that helps, calm down, I'll pray for you. God bless.

Take a deep breath, go outside and get some exercise. Then set yourself little goals, like reading a chapter or research for 1 hour. Just do it little by little and you'll get through it. Watch a funny movie, it will help you relax. Good grades are not everything, I think life experience is more important and actually being able to prove you can use your knowledge in real life is what really counts.

i used to eat like a mad man, and that was really bad. take deep breaths and think i can do this. its all on the inside, just think, itll all be over soon.

hehe i had a nervous breakdown, and i ended up flunking all my finals, so i have alot of experience.

so, just stay organized, make a tight schecdule and be strict on urself to complete it. once i pretended to be someone mean while writing the schedule, threw it in my room, and came back , pretending it wasnt mine, and i stayedon task and focused. then reward urself with a sundae or something

if it continues, go see a doctor, but i like to stay away from pills that mess with the mind. atmost i take a tylenol.

good luck- im sure ull be able to pass, just stay on top of things, and show whose boss. then those a plusses will come right in
