I certainly hope He does.....

Times are not too good. I realize that us Christians have been saying it for years now but......just look around you......it wont be long before it's illegal to preach against homosexuality or abortion and the like.

Dear Primo,

As with you I certainly hope that He does return in our, in my lifetime.

It seems to me that we have seen, are now seeing ALL of the possible permutations and combinations of evil.

That being said, as much as I long for His return, my heart breaks for the millions of people who haven't yet accepted Jesus Christ as their LORD and Savior.

Last night I saw the movie Amazing Grace with my daughter and came home with an even stronger desire to see cult members (especially jws) set free from spiritual bondage.

I would like to point out one disagreement I have with you. I do NOT believe that Sunday morning preaching should be about homosexuality or abortion or ... Sunday morning worship belongs to the awesome uncreated Creator of the univserse. The reason I say this is because our heavenly Father is worthy of the worship of all people at all times. To pick and choose this sin or that sin makes it possible for some people to start thinking "I don't do that!!! and forget that ALL have sinned and fallen short of His glory. But while we were yet dead in our sins, Christ died for the ungodly."

Edit: I was rushing to answer another question and forgot to mention that in addition to the permutations & combinations of evil, I want to point out that the Bible has been translated into nearly every language on the face of the earth. Because of this everybody will have the opportunity to hear in their own language, the Good News of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Nobody will be able to use the excuse "I didn't know."

In addition to the other points is the fact of the internet which has made it possible for information to cover the world in moments.

Fourthly is the funeral for Princess Diana in 1997. I remember watching it and hearing that 50 million people in the U.S. alone were watching. I think there were about 200 million people watching around the world.

When the Lord's Prayer was prayed I fell to my knees and prayed along. "Our Father which art in heaven. Hallowed be Thy Name. THY KINGDOM COME ..." I am sure that I wasn't the only one praying along while watching on tv. Ever since then I've been thinking that it must have been the greatest number of people who were praying for our Father's Kingdom to come. If even 1/10 of us or 1/100 of us were sincerely praying for our Father's Kingdom ... That is why I spend my time trying to share the Good News here on YA.

There is a great deal of interest today in the subject of our Lord's return. I believe that this divinely predicted event may well happen soon; and I am constantly urging believers to obey the scriptural injunction that "teaches us to say 'No' to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ" (Titus 2:12-13). At the same time, I am also aware that the Lord's return may be thousands of years away. The Bible says that "with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day" (2 Peter 3:8).

While there are indications that we may be approaching a crisis in history, and biblical descriptions of the last days fit our times, it would be unwise to make any prediction about the exact time of Christ's return. When on earth, Jesus said, "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" (Matthew 24:36). The important thing is that we should be ready for His coming: "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour" (Matthew 25:13). Read also 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 and 2 Peter 3:3-15.

I seem to recall that one of the prophecies stated that the generation that sees the return of Israel as a nation would also see the second coming. (paraphrased)
Since Israel was reformed in 1945(?) then the question we must ask is, just how many years is one generation? Elsewhere the Bible states something to the affect that a man is allotted 75(?) years to live. If this is God's definition of a generation--and I am engaging in pure speculation here--then that would put the second coming sometime before the year 2020.
Those numbers were pulled from memory and I do not guarantee their accuracy. Furthermore, I do not intend by any stretch of the imagination for this to be an attempt at prophecy or prognostication. It is sheer speculation in response to the question.
If it is so, however, I stand a very good chance of still being alive. It would be wonderful to hear that trumpet's sound and be called up.

No one knows when He will return, it will be in the twinkling of an eye. The Rapture will happen and those who have accepted Christ will be gone from earth. Then there will be a time period for the anit christ to reign. This is also, the second chance for non-believers. Then the second coming of Christ and his reign on earth! This is when the trumpets will blast and every knee shall bow and every tounge confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!
But, I do have to agree that I believe it could very well happen in our lifetime. There have been so many changes in this world just in the last 30 years and not for the better. I don't think God will put up with us much longer. I am ready! Hopefully, everyone will be when He comes!

The folks at Family Radio believe the Final Judgment and Second Coming of Christ will be in the fall of 2011.

For example see the book “Time Has an End” on line at:
http://www.timehasanend.org/public/en_time_has_an_end_cont.html

This group, whose primary teacher is one Harold Camping, also believes the Church Age has ended in 1988 and believers are to come out of the churches as they are now under the control of malevolent forces now that the Tribulation has begun.

See the book Time Has an End, Ch. 10:
http://www.timehasanend.org/public/en_time_has_an_end_ch10.html

That said, the online audio lectures at Family Radio, are illuminating and worth a listen:
See: http://worldwide.familyradio.org/zusa/english/connect/audio_archive/echoes/frame/download/download.html

Finally, for the offline version of the Family Radio nightly call in show, where folks ask questions about the bible to Mr. Camping, see:
http://worldwide.familyradio.org/zusa/english/connect/audio_archive/forum/frame/

I am not endorsing Family Radio’s doctrines, but one is able to learn quite a bit by listening to these materials.

Yes, he will return in our lifetime. The Scripture says, "This generation shall NOT pass until all be fulfilled (concerning Israel)." Since modern Israel has been recognized as a nation since May 14, 1948, one can assume that the favor God has shown that nation since that day was the beginning of the endtime prophecies coming to pass. It could truly be said that anyone who has been born since that day stands a very good chance of being alive when the Rapture occurs.

What one believes should not be considered as a reaction that ought to grant perception as to any real preparation. for persons that have self assurance and understand the bible, that's written that no one shall understand no longer the day or the hour that he will return. i desire he does regardless of the undeniable fact that, i'm slightly bored to death with persons that proceed committing ethical offenses against others.

I have no idea if Christ will return in our lifetime.
I am caught in whether I want that to happen in my lifetime or not.
The longer He delays, the more opportunity to be a witness, to allow the Holy Spirit to accomplish His work.
On the other hand, the depravity which abounds, is heart wrenching... and should not be tolerated.
I am more greatly concerned with the behaviors which directly affect and seriously harm the children, and all of God's creation, all over the world. Abuse, neglect, land mines, starvation, disease, pestilence, malnutrition, genocide...
How can we as Christians stand by and not reach out to those who are suffering and in some way at least lend ourselves to the purpose of relieving that suffering?

I hope He does too.

I had a dream once about going to be with the Lord and it was so awesome but I woke up before I got to see Him. It was such a disappointment to wake up back here.

Yes Jesus is coming very soon now. I do believe that he will come in our lifetime. I see all of the atheists who come in here to mock us and call us names like stupid, and on and on.People just don't want to hear about sin and how you've got to stop sinning anymore. They don't even know what is or is not sin and they don't want to know. They live together without being married and think that it is okay, they don't want to hear that this is in fact sin. People don't want to be taught about the Book of Revelation this explains about the end times and yes, I believe that we are in the end times! The promise that Jesus made in Matthew 24:34 was that he would come back in the lifetime of those who have lived to see all of the signs fulfilled. One of those being the persecution of believers! I agree with you that the day is coming when it will be illegal to preach period!
