I have a friend who I think would benefit from the input of other new mothers but she speaks very little English. If anyone knows of a group specifically for Italian mothers and babies (must be loads in Edinburgh) I would be very happy to hear from you. My own daughter and her daughter gain so much from the support of other mums who are all going through similar times with their youngsters

Why does it have to be an Italian mother and baby club? Surely that's both racist and separatist!!! Surely any mother and baby club would do (If it has a good reputation) Possibly, as she is Italian, there would be one run by the local Catholic church. The fact that she doesn't speak much English shouldn't matter, in fact it will increase her ability of learning the language whilst she is mixing with other mothers and babies. Surely that is how she will become part of this society and feel confident integrating!. I know this works as my sister-in-law is Spanish and she had the same problem when she moved here, now 5 years on apart from her accent she speaks fluently and confidently and my niece speaks 2 languages. I hope this helps
