Is there a difference between saying to someone:
" I love you" & " I am in love with you".

I dont think so... although I guess some people might read it that way - like you can love anyone - your family / friends/ pets / partner - but when you say I am IN love with you - I think somehow that makes your partner that bit more singled out??
Having said that if I was saying it - Id just say love you..... so maybe my answer is totally crap!
xx

Not really. Theres only a difference when someone says they love you but aren't IN love with you. Thats a big difference

In saying it; probably not.
There is however, a great difference between loving someone, & being in love.

Big difference. I love my family, friends, pets, coffee. I am in love with my husband. Stupid crazy love. I can't imagine my life without him. Everyday I try to show him how much he means to me. Whether it be, you know what, or putting a fresh baked brownie in his lunch.

Yeah, definitely. You would tell your parents that you loved them, y'know, in a family way. But if you said to your parents you were IN love with them, that wouldn't be appropriate at all! So you should keep 'I love you' for family and 'I am in love with you' for your partner.

They are both the same in my book and should be reserved for that person who truly makes your heart skip a beat when you see there smile.

Love is the best four letter word!
