how do i talk to a shy guy in my college class...?

i went to high school with him
never had classes with him though
now in college together... hes in one of my classes
he doesnt really talk though but he laughs at things i say outloud to the class when im joking or maybe smiles

hes my friend on myspace but we dont talk on there... i tried asking for help on an assignment once and he didnt know either so that didnt work out too well... basically ive got it to the point he will say hi if he sees me when he walks into class... ya thats bout it... sad... how do i get him to talk to me more without over doing it and looking stupid?

sounds like u r as shy as him, just start talking to him, make him laugh, say something stupid

just go up and ask him hows college, hows he finding it. just ask him lots of questions and never take your eyes off him. smile a lot and he'll get the message. just keep asking him questions. just treat him as anyone else, like a friend.
