I do want to make a difference in the world, but I don't care to be "important". My actions are small, but I think they make the world better.

Of course we all do. There is a quote from Reggie Jackson some years ago in which he answered a question about why he seemed to have such a large ego. " The big man has an ego, the little man is all ego." It is amusing to me when people like Bill Gates wants to give away much of his money now. Of course he could have charged a lot less for his products in the first place, but then he wouldn't have a lot of other peoples money to give away now. Quite funny really.
He maybe seeking after salvation.

When I was younger I thought I would really do something special, something out of the ordinary for the world. While growing up I started to appreciate normality. My goal now is to be as normal as possible, because I am just a human being and normality is a gift.

Do you mean a megalomaniac or a benefactor...I've never really considered myself either on a scale that would make that much difference yet anyway, perhaps my situation will change. It's easier to be a benefactor if you have a whole heap of money you don't really need but I'm not really there yet.

In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love.
It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.
