Hiya, please ignore all the people here that are critising you for your spelling etc. Not everyone is perfect!!

As for your question, I am a single mother who returned to work and I will admit its the best thing I've done as it gives me my freedom and bit of cash etc. Why dont you pop down to your local job centre and explain your circumstances and what you want to do. They will help you from start to finish eg from looking for work to your first day, childcare etc etc.

Hope this helps

Good luck xx xx

I understand your predicament and the main thing is making enough money to look after your children, pay the bills and pay for childcare and still be better off than if you were on benefits. This is the practicality of it. The reality is you will probably be better off on benefits as this country helps those who do nothing whilst those of us who work full time, have a mortgage, pay taxes and are in stable relationships get no help whatsoever.

I do not blame you and admire that you have self pride and want to work. I blame the government for not helping mums get back to work after having children. I am 33 weeks pregnant and I will only be able to afford to go back to work for 2 days (dropping 80% of my usual salary) as to work full time would be pointless - I would be working to make less money and pay for Nursery fees!

Good luck xx

everyone been telling you about the financial side of it but do you really want to put your kids in childcare, only seeing then for an hour a day before bedtime, someone else doing their homework, etc working hard all day and then attending to noisy kids, i would rethink you idea first. I am of the older generation and believe if you have kids you stay at home and watch them and was also a single parent.

hi
im a single mum of one, currently 32 weeks preg with another.

if youreturn to work you will get approx 70% of your childcare paid for. also if you work over 30 hours you get more tax credits, an extra 5 grand a year.

i work and get approx 180 a week wages, 180 a week working and child tax credits (nursery fees are 130 a week) and then child benefit.

my daughter is much better for being at nursery and communicating with other children and i get some time at work which, ok is work but time with adults which i think you really do need beinga single mum.

feel free to email me on lisaviduka@yahoo.co.uk

I am also a single full time working Mum and find that i am much better off. I have my own independence and my children do not miss out on my time. I still cook and clean and do their homework with them, and also find time to take them to the pictures or bowling.... go for it hun, your kids will grow up to look at you as a roll model and respect you more. Good on you!!

You come across as the stereotypical single mum. Can't spell for toffee - this gives people the impression that you are thick and therefore not worthy of employment. Learn to spell!
