anyone know how i can copy a dvd to my computers hard drive in a way that will let me watch it without any problems or interruptions? i have been tryin to copy a movie but when i play it back on VLC media player it just keeps jumping a lot and is unwatchable. The reason i want to do this is because i borrowed the dvd and i need to give it back. Would it be a problem relating to the fact that it is an original dvd and therefore protected against copying? I dont intend to copy the movie for distribution purposes.I only want to store it so that i can watch it whenever i want.If its not possible then i will prob jus buy it or download it,but i want to find out if it can be done the other way first. Your help is appreciated :-)

Try http://www.magicdvdripper.com/ i think nero does it aswell, although you might need a plugin. Apart from that you could make an image of the file using a program like alcohol 120% or deamon tools, that way you would still have all the menus and tht. hope tht helps.

Download DVD Decrypter. I use it all the time and it simply puts all the scenes into one folder ready to watch or copy yourself. So just search in google for DVD Decrypter.
I hope this solves your problem
