If contact has been firmly established between child and non resident parent, firstly at a contact center followed by days out away from contact center.
A UK judge says that a child at two and a half years old is too young to have overnight contact with non resident parent. From what age is a child allowed to have overnight contact with non resident parent?

There has been no history of violence etc, the resident parent is just being difficult in allowing access, hence a judge is involved. Parents don't get on at all.

Normally from birth when parents sort it out themselves, but it seems that there is some reason why the non-resident parent doesn't have normal contact anyway- having to go through a contact centre, courts, etc to start off with, which isn't the usual practise.

Judges are rarely involved in contact cases unless there is a history of abuse/violence/drugs that raise child welfare concerns etc or otherwise if the parents are completely unable to co-operate for some reason. Most parents sort these things out themselves without involving contact centres and judges, so the judge must have a good reason for erring on the side of caution here.
