I chose an LCD, but the pros and cons balance out pretty well overall, so it's really up to what looks good to you. Newer plasmas are claiming similar longevity as LCDs. For a really good pro/con discussion, visit this webpage: http://plasmatvbuyingguide.com/plasmatvreviews/plasma-vs-lcd.html

I have heard from various sales people who I have spoken to that LCDs are more durable then Plasma, also easier to repair, and not as costly to repair. In fact one salesperson bought an LCD screen rather then a Plasma, even though Plasma has blacker blacks. Me I rather go for reliability and durability. Good luck.

There both great. The newer LCD's and Plasmas have improved so much you cant really see the diffence. Plasmas ussually have a brighter and sharper picture in bigger sizes and LCD's ussually are better in smaller sizes. I would go with whatever you like and whatever your price range can handle.

you can talk about the pros and cons of each untill your blue in the face. Because of the money involved people who bought a plasma will defenf them untill their last breath and the same for LCD.
Its down to personal choice, go down to a large TV store and compare them side by side, Avoid watching them if they are showing cartoons and animations as these always look good

8 or 6 ms is plenty fast enough. Plasmas typically don't last as long as LCD's though, and are less efficient with power etc.
