can anyone tell me if it is just me or do most people find that the RAW version of an image is more saturated in colour than its JPG counterpart after conversion.

And if so, why does this happen?

The conversion to jpeg throws away some data for the compression. That may be the difference you are seeing, Convert the file into a tiff and I doubt you'd see much difference.

Everytime u convert any image to jpeg,it is compressed.
There is the clue. And it is unavoidable,,we have to re-adjust tthe image.
