The RC2 is a beta, once the product goes gold (ie. production), all beta will cease, so downloading it is just asking for trouble.

RC2 stands for release candidate 2.
Rc stage software or OS are primarily to be used by by BETA testers to test them. Also windows vista RC2 was designed to stop functioning at 1/1/2007 so you would download it for nothing.
The full version of windows vista is out and you can buy a DVD now.
So don't download it, instead get a DVD of the RTM (full) Version.

I'd be surprised if it does download and it's not upgradeable.
