NASA was considering Algae for deep space travel where the air would be circulated in the tank and allow the Algae to recycle the air. It has been prove that it would work . and it is why the plants have done such a good job on recycling our air.

Think for a second. Where have you seen it? Was it on dry land? or in an arid environment? Use your brain. Was it in an aquatic environment?

Aquatic environment that has a alot of moisture.muddy environment with alot of moisture also support its existence.
