My son who is 11 has some kind of rash or something. Its the same colour as his skin and its on her arms, legs, chest, just about everywhere besides his face. His skin feels very rough, everyhwere his skin for some reason does not have any moisture.

I have made him take hot long baths every night and then towelling him off.

Is there any past expierences or anything that if your son or daughter had and how you fixed it? If it did what was the age when they had it- It can be very important

thanks!

I once dated a guy who was born with a condition like that.. he had no moisture in his skin and it would rash and get scaly. He had a special cream that he put on his skin daily.

If you son does have a rash and no moisture, putting him in a hot bath everyday is going to make the problem worse. The soap and constant evaporation of the water on his skin is going to dry him out more.

Normally I would suggest baby oil or some lotion but you don't even know what the rash is. Is he on any medications? Has he been in poison ivy? Does it itch, leak, scab over? Is it raised or non raised.
Depending on those factors, you need to have a professional look at it. You can take your son to the pharmacy and show the pharmacist and see what he/she says, but you need to see your sons primary care provider. It's at the point now where he may need a prescription. HTH

The hot baths could be draining the moisture RIGHT out of your sons skin. Have you tried using any lotions-scent free-after the bath to 'lube up' so to speak? It's beneficial.

It could also be an allergic reaction to something, you should take your son and discuss this with his pediatrician, he or she will have the BEST advice for remedying the situation! Please don't delay, it sounds very important! At least call the nurse if you neglect to take him in for an appointment!

my brother got a rash once when he was 8 it turned out to be minigicocil meningitis, which kills the elderly and children very quickly, they did not expect him to live after only showing sign for two days, and wrote a book about him and the few others for surviving. id say u need to go to the dr. quick, if it were ur skin would you waller in it?!

If it it is scaly sort of itchy rash it could be psoriasis, take him to the doctors.
Have you changed your washing powder etc?

could be exzema. It runs in my family. You should take him to a skin specialist. He may have to use a skin cream (prescribed).
