I have 2 dogs, a girl and a boy.
A little while back my girl went into heat,
so we had her stay at my grandma's house (so my boy wouldn't go crazy)
Yesterday we brought her back (she's not in heat anymore) and my boy went CRAZY
He's pumped with hormones or something,
he wont get off of her!!
I don't know what to do, he wouldn't let me sleep yesterday night!
Is there such a thing as a dog that's TOO horny?
Should I do something? He's even driving my girl crazy, cause she doesn't want it every 5 seconds...

What can I do to calm him down?

NOTE: Heat- when a female dog has her "period"

Hi Dariya R!

Intact male dogs (those not neutered) are prone to a number of annoying behaviors that are directly related to testosterone production. Behaviors mounting your female dog, roaming in search of female; and aggression are all caused by testosterone. Having the dog neutered, thus eliminating testosterone production, greatly reduces these behaviors, as well as decreases the animal's level of stress.

If you hereinafter not plan a breeding dogs, please get your male dog neutered it is your need. Please look article: http://www.askedweb.com/askedweb/Neutering_The_Male_Dog/

We had that problem with our daschunds, our vet advised that after the heat there may still be a few days of hormones being given off, he's probably reacting to that.
For the record, even if you have her spayed, every now and again, she'll drive male dogs nuts like that.
Unless you plan on breeding with them, why not have them fixed?

She may not have been left at grandma's long enough because if she was she would not even let him mount her, so you may very well be enjoying a house full of puppies in 2 months time
