I have a bit of a phobia about general anaesthetics, and some of the statistics are quite alarming.
CT scans show an inflamed appendix, which has led to a thickening of the colon wall due to inflammation in the right iliac fosse. They think it could either be a straight appendectomy, or an appendectomy with a hemicolectomy where the colon is inflamed. Another CT scan is required.
To be honest i am cr@pping myself at the thought of this surgery, not because of the pain, which I couldn't care less about, but the whole general anaesthetic thing is worrying me. Is this a routine op. should I be worrying? I would like some reassurance really.
