With all the division among Chrystendom, I wonder whether God planned it this way. Some have said that God made denominations to draw different people through different mediums and doctrine to himself (though I don't share that view) Any thoughts?

Martin Luther was as per the Plan of God.

Till the time of Martin Luther God allowed the prince of this world to work in this world.

God do not consider denominations, but he knows the thoughts of man.

If any denomination is in enemity with other denomination, surely this is the work of the god (prince ) of this world.

In the book of the God of this world Chapter 5 verses 14 it is said he will make christians to fight each other.

There are hundreds, if not thousands of divisions within christianity. The main ones are called denominations. What does that say for one church under God? Many have come in Jesus name, and taught thier own doctrine. This causes divisions. A house divided against itself cannot stand.

Denominationalism was not in God's plan at all. That was all man. What God intended was written in the bible. Man just intupets one passage blows it out of porportion and makes a man made doctrine surrounding it and poof a new denomination is born.

I am almost positive it wasn't. Churches have split and new denominations have been formed over such trivial issues that it is ridiculous. An example of that is one church split and part of the congregation formed a separate church because they were building a new sanctuary and part of the people wanted to put a cushion on the pews and the others felt it was sacrilegious.

i'm confused by all the long words. but It was God's plan for people to make their own choice in what they beleive in. Most people made the wrong choices and made Idols and worshipped them. others change things from the bible and think other ways. But I beleive that only Christianity is the right.

I don't think it was. Christ to Peter, "upon this rock thy shall build my church." That was the Catholic church. Over the years many evil people managed the church very badly. Thus we had Martin Luther form his church. As time passed others have formed different Christian churches according to their own beliefs. I don't know about other religions, but I believe we are all sisters and brothers under one God and there are many roads to Heaven.

According to the Bible... a house divided against itself will not stand.

How many Denominations does Christianity have now? Could you imagine having to count ALL of those that consider themselves "Non-Denom"?

Yes and No. To the extent that it draws in different people, it must be God's Will; to the extent that it adds fuel to egos and is a stumbling block, maybe not so much.

I think sectarianism is divisive and exclusive, it is sinful and shouldn't be allowed!... it's also hard to say denominationalism so it can't be part of God's plan.

Denominationalism is man-made.
