Saint Malachy prophecized centuries ago that the last pope will be of the Olivine order(St. Benedict's order). It is probably just a coincidence that the present pope's name is Benedict? If however, Pope Benedict is the last pope, that also implies that JEsus will return. Because in the Bible, Jesus said that he will build his CHurch and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. The day of the last pope is the last day on earth when Jesus will return in glory. The pope is the guardian of Christ's CHurch until he returns. The pope is no longer needed when the Master is on Earth.

No.

The Catholic Church has not declared the Prophecies of St. Malachi as divinely inspired.

The Wikipedia article you reference even states that some modern scholars even think they are a forgery.

With love in Christ.
