Atheists say "there is no god" (it is NOT someone who hates god. Someone who hates god is still a theist)

Agnostics say "it is impossible to know whether god exists or not".

So being atheist doesn't rule out being agnostic. I'm an agnostic with strong atheistic leanings.

Atheist's believe in nothing, as far as a God / Goddess is concerned, and when they die.. Once again there is nothing, just blackness and nothing.. Whereas an Agnostic is unsure, he / she believes there may be something out there in the God / Goddess form and certainly don't rule out the existence of life after death.. An Agnostic really is a person who is not ready to commit to any mainstream religious thinking, but does not discount the possibility that what they don't believe in is possible.. Love and Light .. Blessed Be .. )O(

Atheist believe there is no Divine. Agnostics believe the existence of a Divine can never be proved or just don't go along with any religious doctrines that exist.

Regardless of which category you fit in, the fact that you are happy is all that matters. I wouldn't worry about what label others want to put on you. Happy is happy. Enjoy it, not all are happy regardless of the label they wear.

Blessed Be )O(

Being an athiest means you don't believe in any sort of higher being. You don't believe in God, Buddah, spirits, nothing. You feel that no one is watching over human life and that we are all here on earth by our own means and when we die that's the end of everything. There is no afterlife.

Being agnostic means that you do believe in a higher being, but you don't believe that that being is THE God that we Christians worship. You just feel that somebody/thing is looking out for us, but that this person may not have ultimate power over everything.

If you do not call God in summer he will not come in winter to help you. When you are happy, healthy and well to do you have many friends , relatives and others who come to enjoy with you. The real test comes when you are in adverse circumstances and need help. At such times relatives cannot be traced, friends will have important un avoidable engagements and none will have money to spare. God alone comes to rescue under all conditions. Its only those who have had god's help know how sweet it is. Your believing or not believing in God does not make any difference because god alone is permanent and we are all ephemeral.
Think how proud you will be if you know you are going to be immortal. God who is eternal has no pride in him.

Agnostics think that trying to decide if God is real or not is totally pointless because it is unprovable either way.
Atheists say God(s) are imaginary and unreal, a more definite position.
However since atheist literaly refers to the lack of God meaning no faith agnostic is just a type of atheist.

In my view, an agnostic thinks that the idea that there is a god is equally valid to the idea that there is no god. For this reason, I call myself an atheist. I think that of course we cannot have final knowledge about the universe, life, and everything, but on the other hand the concept of an omnipotent creator god is so ridiculous and far-fetched that I cannot style myself an agnostic, I reject this idea completely.

Whatever you choose for yourself, make it easier for everyone by spelling atheist correctly. Thanks.

Atheist flat don't believe in the possibility of a God or supernatural being. Agnostics are fence straddlers. They only believe maybe there is a God trying to play it safe just in case.

If you are happy, that proves you are an agnostic. Think about it.

Not knowing there's nothing divine "out there" has got to be more cheerful than knowing there's nothing divine anywhere. You've got a better view, too, sitting on the fence. It's just that when you come across difficulties in life, old age, illness etc, you're going to feel dashed uncomfortable on your perch. Better to come off it as soon as possible after a reality check. If you want to stay happy, though, there's only one side you'll find that on!

My understanding is that an Atheist doesn't believe in anything religious or spiritual, & has more realistic scientifically-based outlook on our origin, where as an Agnostic, while not believing in cod or jebus, tends to think that maybe there is something out there, but is not sure what.
I subscribe to the former train of thought..
