I have done the run dx diag and the only thing I saw out of the ordinary is : 3d functionality not available...
I have direct x 9.0c and 512mb ram. every other program is closed, and lots of virtual memory added. still not working. How do I fix the 3d functionality not being available?

What OS did you run ?windows?did you have direct x 9 installed in your PC ?Check this : start/run/dxdiag and do a test..
it's also possible that you have not enough ram , try to increase virtual memory...

Nod3Ddevice is to do with your graphics card.... Sounds like you either don't have powerful enough card in MB or you need a 3d card to play these games... you can get a new card from any computer store for as little as $50 to $100 which will play basic 3d games... but if you want to play more advanced games you will have to spend about $200 to $300 on a decent card and some RAM... and if you don't know what sort of card you need the take your computer down to a local computer store and tell them your price range and they will give you the right one and they can even install it for you.

What type of interest? Solitaire? Crysis? whether that could be a heavy load interest (crysis or like that the place it takes up the full show upon loading) then it it maximum probable by way of overheating.. it fairly is your motherboards way of asserting its great warm and desires extra cooling or airflow.. in case you jus tlet it shop beeping that is going to ultimately proceed to develop the temperatures wil some thing fries... The crashing of the laptop is its own mechanism for self survival.. whether it remains on that is going to soften and die.. i anticipate you turn it on immediatly after that occurs thinking not something of it.. a minimum of open the edge of the case to allow some air out.. it seems that like the interior the computing device are great clogged.. which has undesirable airflow.. freshen up the interior or upload extra followers or purely flow away the part panel open because of the fact your computing device isn't getting sufficient air out and in to proper quiet down the CPU.
