My consciousness is my personality. My self awareness.
My spirit, my essence, energy, Mana, like my body, 'recycles', after death.
When I am dead, I will have no need of 'Me', but that which I have come from will have need of that which I am.
My body will become dust, and my spirit will become one with the Logos.
Not the most comprehensive of explanations, but it will do, for now. Written English can be an awkward and clumsy language to explain such things in. Sorry.

When the first man, Adam, deliberately disobeyed God's command, He said to him: "In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return." (Genesis 3:19) Where was Adam before Jehovah created him from the dust? Why, he was nowhere! He simply did not exist. So when Jehovah God said that Adam would "return to the ground," he meant that Adam would die and return to the elements in the ground. Adam would not cross over to the spirit realm. At death Adam would once again be nonexistent. His punishment was death—absence of life—not a transfer to another realm.—Romans 6:23.

What about others who have died? The condition of the dead is made clear at Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10, where we read: "The dead know nothing . . . There is no pursuit, no plan, no knowledge or intelligence, within the grave." (Moffatt) Death, therefore, is a state of nonexistence. The psalmist wrote that when a person dies, "his spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish."—Psalm 146:4.

Clearly, the dead do not exist. They cannot know anything. They cannot see you, hear you, or talk to you. They can neither help you nor harm you. You certainly need not fear the dead. But how is it that the spirit "goes out" from a person at the time of his death?

You are the consciousness. You return to your original state. The physical body, which provides limited/filtered consciousness for the benefit of awareness, upon death releases you to experience your full potential as full consciousness(that's your original state). This experience can be described as altered state of consciousness. Here, you would see yourself sort of like the center of all thoughts, be able to sense everyone like everything is connected into you and vice versa. Your physical body will subjected to the physical laws(whatever it is) But you would be experiencing the fullness of what the law of spirit provides.

Additional:
Nagarajan was correct pointing out that consciousness pervades the entire cosmos, it is everywhere. So to answer your question: You go nowhere, but simply re-transfroming to your original state.

Nowhere. Your consciousness without your body is like a computer with the power unplugged. Thought processes are very much a part of your physical body and are not their own separate entity. Kill the body and the thinking stops. The Christian hope is of the resurrection of the body. When Christ was raised from the dead it was his very own body that the disciples were able to touch with their own hands. He was not some sort of spirit floating around. Biblical references in the OT most often are a reflection of the breath of God "ruach" that gives life to humanity. Remove the "breath of life" and we are...............dead. Nothing but the dirt of the earth.

Consciousness pervades the entire Cosmos and beyond our imaginations. It is always, everywhere, Ever. Hence there is no question of 'going and coming' for the consciousness. It is inside all as well as it encompasses all. It is inside the so called inert materials also. It is neither created nor destroyed. It has no attributes. It is subtler than the sky and beyond the grasp of the mind and intellect. nagarajan.

Dear Friend,

I sounds as if you are talking about reincarnation, which can be proved false in two ways.

1. If it were true then how would the population rate keep rising, demand would outstrip supply!

2.The Bible, the word of the one true god, teaches of resurrection to life on a paradise earth.

God Bless

well the bible says the dead knows nothing so their consciousness must die with them

Ecclesiastes, chapter 9
5: For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward; but the memory of them is lost.

Try "The Prophet". By Kahlil Gibran.
At least 707 people on these
boards will scold you in their effort to ethnically
cleanse you, but I think you'll know what to do.
