During our second child my wife was discovered that she had fibroid tumors and emdomytriosis, this caused a lot of pain but she wanted another child.
With the third pregnancy everything went downhill, she was bed ridden for 8 weeks.
After surgery she had so many complications, ruptured once and has since(5months) shown zero improvment.
In fact it is getting worse.

Her stomach pain is so bad that she can rarely get out of bed, she now is a full 15 inches larger around her mid section than when she was pregnant.
She will get bigger in a matter of days if she is in pain.
We have had every test known done and I feel we should switch Doctors.

But she feels a connection with the one she has.
MY question is has anyone out there had similar experiences?
And what did you do to get better, life is pretty bad as she is unable to care for the three children and in now suffering from depression.
Current medical concoction methadone, oxycodone, many others.

Someone please help!!

It sounds like they may not have removed as much of the endometriosis lesions as possible. Unfortunately hysterectomy is not a cure for endometriosis as some people would like to think it is.

I agree that she should get another opinion. I have a wonderful relationship with my OB/GYN of almost 10 years but in 2003 I went and got a second opinion from another OB/GYN to make sure that my dr and I weren't missing anything. Turned out the other OB/GYN discovered that my pain issues in part have to do with my bladder.

I would also recommend having her evaluated by a Pain Management specialist that has experience with chronic pain due to gynecologic conditions such as endometriosis. Also, ask her what she thinks about having her records evaluated by one of the top specialists for their opinion.

Getting a second opinion may not mean that she will have to change drs at all and just let her know that you are concerned that something might have been missed and just want her to cover all her bases.

Here's a great site for info about endometriosis: http://www.endocenter.org

Personally, after my hysterectomy I felt like a new woman, but my mother had a similar problem after hers. She was hemorrhaging on the inside where the doctor had mistakenly clipped a small part of her bladder. They found it and took care of it. Sounds as if your wife is in a great deal of pain. Just a hunch, but have them look for something called Chron's Disease. It only shows up on a colonoscopy. No other test will reveal it. I have that and I swell bigger than when I was pregnant too and it does cause a great deal of pain. But in any case, she does need to see someone else for another opinion. She's on some awfully strong meds and it will take her a while to just get those under control not to mention the depression. God, I know what you're going thru. I've been there. I do hope you can help her for your and your babies sake and hers. It's hard being sick so often when your children are small. Good Luck.

I agree you shouldn't try to get her to turn her back on a doctor she trusts but please ask her to get a second opinion. Tell her that her 3 children need her to take care of them.
I had ovarian cysts and would become much larger during the middle of the month - perhaps they left all or part of her ovaries in? Check with the doctor. If so, you may want to have those removed. I had 3 surgeries, each 18 months apart before they finally did what I asked and removed them all together. If they have left some ovary in there (probably to keep from having to put her on hormone therapy), ask that they take them out and while they are doing that they can do a little exploratory surgery to see if anything else has gone wrong.
She's on heavy duty medication....at this point anything would help.

Not trying to scare you but something similar happened to a friend of mine. Turns out they had sewn a section of her bowel in to her stitching. They did not catch it for months because there is nothing to test for. They had to cut her open again. I would get someone else to look into it.

ok this has never happened but i love medical. if i were you get a second opinion to me ive never heard of that happening to someone. is she yellow because if so its her liver just press your finger on her skin and if its yellow instead of white then its her liver. If she cant get seen by another gynocologist, take her the ER or someone id be persistant. sometimes you gotta show doctors who is boss. good luck sorry i have never had this happen to me.

Sounds like she needs a second opinion.

Instead of talking her into switching doctors, why don't you just talk her into going and seeing and talking to a different doc.

Good luck and I hope she gets better

seek a surgeon like yesterday
chances are the medicine doesnt mix together.
therefore a second opinion is very important regardless as to what she may say about it!!
if she doesnt want to take her anyway.

email me at
zapatha123@yahoo.com and let me know how she is doing
ok?

if the pain is bad enough, she needs to seek a second opinion. there is no such thing as loyalty when your health is at risk.
